"Always enjoy the level of customer service here! They treat you like family whether they are familiar with you or not!"
- Kevin Coulter
For over 91 years, CO-OP Gas & Supply Company has been more than just a propane, farm, home, and hardware store—we’ve been a community of neighbors helping neighbors. Founded in 1934 by local families who each invested $10 to build something lasting for Bonner County, we’ve grown into one of the oldest cooperatives in the Sandpoint–Ponderay area.
Today, anyone can shop with us—but becoming a member is completely FREE and comes with real benefits. Members enjoy our low in-store pricing on everyday items, plus the opportunity to receive dividends at the end of the year—because when you’re part of the CO-OP, you share in the success.
At CO-OP Gas & Supply Company, you’re not just a customer—you’re an owner, a neighbor, and a vital part of a tradition built on trust, service, and community.

What's Coming Up?
The final frost dates for our neck of the woods, north Idaho, is generally in mid to late May. Closer to the Canadian border the last frost dates move into June. So, what causes frost to form?
Clear Skies: Allows heat to radiate away from the ground efficiently.
Calm/Light Winds: Prevents warmer air from mixing with the cold air sitting on the surface.
High Humidity/Moisture: Ensures there is enough water vapor to deposit as ice.
Temperatures: Although air temperatures might be slightly above
the surface must reach freezing. So, be careful with frost sensitive plants until those chance of frost dates pass.
You can now pull up weather.com on your devise to keep a close watch on weather conditions in real time! No more waiting for the Weatherman to tell us there is a chance of frost! -
Garden Time is Closing in!
We have had some lovely days but it still is not time to plant the whole garden just yet. I am putting in onion sets, potatoes, carrots and beets. There is still plenty you can do to get ready.
Now is a great time to secure the soil amendments you know you are going to need. Basics like bloodmeal, bone meal, calcium, vermiculite to manage moisture loss (and help carrot seed germinate) as well as compost and the manure products are all ready in the CO-OP parking lot. If you need smaller amounts, just come in the store and check out the Down to Earth 4 lb. boxes of soil amendments. Oh, and check out those cute watering cans!
